The history of GridEcon
GridEcon was a “Sixth Framework Programme” European Community funded project, exploring the perceived economic barriers to the adoption of grid, or cloud, computing.
The full title of the project is Grid Economics and Business Models and was a specific targeted research project led by the International University in Germany, contract number 033634.
The GridEcon project officially started 1 July 2006, and lasted for 34 months. The maximum community contribution to the project will be 2,350,000 Euro. The contact for the project is Sonja Klingert Sonja.Klingert@i-u.de.
The project continues in the open source domain and we are actively seeking involvement and enhancement from all interested third parties.
GridEcon “The Book”
All the GridEcon research is fully documented within the “GridEcon Book”, which combines a collection of “GridEcon” Papers.
